The Definite Article offers ready-to-wear fashion items and a custom-made clothing service. The brand is proudly owned and operated by Melbourne-based Kiwi fashion designer Rachel Bradstock.

Our personalised service will make your fashion ideas a reality- whether it’s a historically inspired outfit, a wedding dress with a twist, or your dream pillbox hat! Clothes are carefully tailored to client’s needs. Together with you, Rachel can design, pattern, tailor and fit garments from scratch or find creative ways to breathe new life into old garments you love.

Alteration services such tailoring and repairs are available to refine your existing wardrobe.

Sustainability is important to us. We want to help you express yourself through fashion while being mindful of people and our planet.

Altering or fixing a garment reduces carbon footprint emissions created by the fabric industry. For new creations, we upcycle materials and prolong the life of existing garments where possible.
